aKing's New Video Single: 'So Close'

aKing is one of the few bands doing something original in a scene that is full to bursting with SAFA-pop. I think it's great that we've developed our own, local, rock sound but, like anything pure and good in this world, there are those who would, and have, used it's powers for evil. It is in the dark that the light shines brightest, however (look at me, all poetic and not even drunk yet) and aKing, having done a metric shit-ton to build this aforementioned sound over the last few years, have continued to improve it. Jumping riffs, catchy melodies, unique vocals and, praises be-on-high, intelligent lyrics have put them smack-bang in the top five of this SAFA muso's list of Rad Okes To Get Pissed Jamming To.

Take a gander at their new music video for 'So Close'.
Big props to Adriaan Louw for a superb job shooting and directing. Looks great.

While you're at it, check out the video for Catch Alight, and watch the boys bet the shit out of each other for four and a half minutes. Spectacular.

It’s a dilemma that tens of thousands of procrastinating cubicle jockeys have to face every day. No sooner have you Googled Why am I so lonely? when a dozen links promoting whichever sound byte of lyrical drivel these Moose-loving dropouts from a Gillette commercial have most recently ground out dry-hump themselves across your screen.

Thanks to the ingenious minds at Aux.com, however, we can final rid ourselves of this blight upon our screens. With but a click of the mouse, you can now rid your Internet of Nickleback forever.

Nandos' Best Ad Yet

Nandos has a history of making some of the most entertaining ads ever, but this one takes the cake. Sure, it's a little dark, but most really funny things are. Give it a watch. I promise, you won't be disappointed.

ANC Wikipedia Page Censored

All my godlike Photoshop powers aside, I swear that I have not edited this. This is exactly what appeared on the Wikipedia page for the ANC at 13:00 today.

For those not in the know, this occurred in response to yesterday’s Black Tuesday, when South Africa’s ruling ANC government, against monstrous political and public protest, forced through the Protection of Information Bill. Said bill has made it illegal for any private citizen, reporter or media house to be in possession of any documents classified as State Secret. Printing or being in possession of such documents can result in up to 25 years jail time, which is more than some murderers receive in this country.

Galaxy Nexus VS iPhone 4S: One-All So Far

As many of you know, I have a love/hate relationships with cellphones – I hate not owning the things that I love, a category easily defined as ‘anything that allows me to browse Cracked.com while doing 140kmph on the N2 highway at 2:15AM somewhere between Knysna and Plettenberg Bay’.
I am a man of simple needs

However, as the powers that be have for so long put such delightful gadgets well outside the reach of my wallet, I am forced to work out my perpetual feelings of angst and despair in passive-aggressive rants online. Therefore, in my continued hate-affair with all things cell-phone, I bring you the skivvy on the up-coming Samsung Galaxy Nexus and how it compares to several of its major competitors-to-be. Most specifically, the iPhone 4S.

So what are the headlines on Google News today? Let’s take a gander, shall we? Top Stories: US President Obama kicks up some sort of fuss around Burma, and Kristen pulls her 'sexy face' (sic)! An in depth piece of hard-hitting, investigative journalism on just how much Kirsten Steward enjoyed shooting her woopie scenes with Robert Pattinson for Twilight: Breaking Dawn (Lets not unpack that title just yet. Leave it for another day.)

Lithuania’s Worst Theme Park in the World

Back in Port Elizabeth, we had a traveling fair that would set up shop around December each year. It had been dubbed ‘Pleasure Land’, and to this day I wonder whether that was supposed to be ironic, or an in-joke between whichever deviants and/or variety of sexual predators got the place going to begin with.

The Backwater Gospel – A Macabre Animated Short

I don’t know why I bother beating about the bush anymore; why I don’t simply rename this site to Happy Horror McVicerate’s Abjection Emporium. I don’t remember the last time I posted something lighthearted and uplifting. I’m not totally convinced I ever have.

That said, here’s a wonderfully macabre short, animated film entitled The Backwater Gospel from the guys at The Animation Workshop. Stunning use of illustration and CGI as well as a pleasantly eerie soundtrack by Sons of Perdition.

Check it out. You won’t be disappointed.

What a Glorious F*ckeroo! It’s a Bouncing, Baby, Bieber.

There’s now “credible evidence” that Bieberoonie knocked up a darling young girl named Mariah Yeater, all of three years his senior, in a backstage bog after a gig. Guess the old Biebster may finally be able to put those lesbian rumours behind him.
