Red Hot Chili Peppers Release Interactive Video for 'Look Around'

Never ones to disappoint, the Red Hot Chilli Peppers have released their new, interactive music video for Look Around.

Basically, it's an opportunity for you, the viewer/listener, to scroll through some personalized rooms, find hidden videos and slide shows and bop your head to the new track (suitably groovy) all while the four of them act like silly buggers in the foreground.

There is little to zero scripting, which feels like a cheat. Sure, maybe it's tricky to follow a story across 360 degrees of screen, but there are enough hardened RHCP fans out there to have made it work. Come across as a little lazy, in my entirely correct opinion. You can only watch Flea and his lady roll around in shaving cream for so long.

That said, it is a solid first step by the band into the world of interactive media. Not quite 'The Wilderness Downtown' by Arcade Fire, or 'The Johnny Cash Project', but hey, they'll get there.
